copywriting

Gooooooooooooooooooooooool! One expressive word can define a moment and never be forgotten. Kick, pass, run, shoot, goal. Words with more information, but lifeless and forgettable. Great copy is on target like a perfect center. Sometimes it feeds a phenomenal bicycle kick, and other times it's a quick assist, but either way the right copy connects for the score. That perfect phrase can come in passing from any member of the team, or sometimes from a grueling overtime. As long as it works, the club wins.

Blood Alcohol Concentration Activity

One drink, two drinks, he drinks a few drinks. The U ConsiderThis Blood Alcohol Concentration activity allows a user to see the results of alcohol consumption firsthand. For this activity I wrote scripts for a series of 14 interactions between four students who are drinking the same amount of alcohol. Each stage had to work independently and as part of the series, and the actions of each student needed to match up with behaviors that are common at each specific BAC. I want to show you this one in person.

Energy Balance Introduction

Introducing characters, concepts, and content in a simple intro movie takes a lot of planning and leveraging of conceptual clues, without falling into the trap of stereotypes. This project never was produced, but it was so fun to write the script and design the characters, I have to keep it around to show people. I illustrated the characters and scenes, and still hold out hope that maybe one fine day, they will get reborn again. Download the script >>

Klein Buendel "Bridges"

At every conference we attended, we would get the same question. What does Klein Buendel *do*? After trying several different ways to explain the strengths of a health research group working directly with a creative group, I developed this campaign to help clarify things. It is great to see understanding dawn on a person's face. Our task at KB is to bridge the gaps to a user's understanding, and we do it very well.

Headline: We build bridges.

Body: At Klein Buendel, we specialize in helping researchers and health professionals build cost-effective solutions to bridge the gap that divides people and the health information they need. Our team is experienced in the full spectrum of graphic design, content development and multimedia production. Whether you need a simple brochure on a specific topic or a full multimedia training program, we can help your project achieve its goals. Be the Director

This activity breaks from the ranks of advertising and reveals some not-so-secret steps to producing a commercial. The levels of options and odd juxtapositions made for a fun activity that brings a user into the process of developing a television commercial for the alcohol industry. It's a little brutal sometimes, but not off the mark. The most important thing is that this activity delivers the main message with gusto: Advertising delivers a specifically tailored and modified reality. Read the text on the next page >>
